Anodizing of Aluminium
Anodizing is a type of aluminum surface treatment used to obtain decorative surfaces, abrasion resistance, corrosion protection and electrical insulation. By electrolytically oxidizing the surface in acid, a protective oxide layer with a thickness of 5 - 25 microns is formed. The most common are uncoloured, natural anodized surfaces. The oxide layer can also be dyed in different colors such as black, red, blue, purple, gold, champagne and green.
YTSAB Oxide AB and YTSAB perform anodizing in high quality and short delivery time.
Other methods of anodizing are, for example , gloss anodizing and hard anodizing . In gloss anodizing , the surfaces are polished before anodizing , which gives shinier surfaces. Hard anodizing is performed to get a very durable surface layer. Almost all aluminum alloys can be anodised for increased corrosion protection, but they are differently suited for decorative anodizing .
